THE HEALING MIND
Be very still, and open your
mind to the thoughts of healing.
Go on. Let them in !
Breathe deeply, feel the air enter
your nostrils and sink deeply into your throat, and feel yourself relax..
For every thought of crippledness
or resentment, every rage against fate that you or another has suffered
there is a healing thought, a change possible. If only that you personally
will never, allow such things to happen another, if you have the strength
and insight to prevent it. You don't have to keep any of it, you
don't have to struggle either to hold on to the grief or to control it.
Breathe deeply, feel the healing air,
the life giving air enter your body, and sink deeply into your chest. Feel
the constriction unknot, your facial muscles relax..
Does it seem strange that this healer
has the implacability of a warrior ? The incisiveness of a surgeon. For
this being, this new mind this New Idea will remake your energies and your
ideas, if you invite him and his assistance. Does it seem strange to you
that you have been inviting the hard thoughts and helplessness with every
thought that it is 'Not your fault' - you personally may not be able to
change the past, but it is not necessarily so that you cannot change your
path . .
Whether or not you can allow your
mind to expand, to invite the peerless logic of Raphael to examine your
way of thinking, your habits of unreflecting pain, you can change your
mind.
This is the Dawn, the new choice,
and once it is offered it is up to you. You may not know how
to change your mind, but you can allow the possibility of such a change
to enter.
Be very still, be aware of your breathing.
Feel the presence of the new mind, the healing mind, the strong mind, the
blunt companion.
Look at the picture: Imagine the piercing
of the new thought, the analytic understanding, imagine the wholeness,
the many dimensions of that ball in his left hand. This your mind.
Do you feel that this is not your
style, perhaps that it is not meek ? A new mind certainly takes discipline,
and silent meditation, and a lot of quiet. It takes more strength, of course,
to subject yourself to this New Mind, but it also takes more humility.
Meekness does not mean that you lie down and accept, forgiveness doesn't
mean that you have to allow the intolerable to go on and on and on. It
means that even if you can't imagine a new way to think, that
you open your mind to its transformation: towards a likeness with the mind
of Christ.. the mind of the anointed one.
As it is written: "And be
renewed in the spirit of your mind"
We can invite the new thoughts. We
can also, always, cry "Enough for now"
Raphael the healer,
who tends the health and well being of all creatures, and of the earth
herself. He offers us thoughts of joy, healing, love, miracles and
grace. He inspires us to pray and is protective of travellers, those who
venture on new paths, among customs and thoughts strange to them. He guards
and guides those who take outward or inward risks, who dare to see things
as they really are, who have the courage to evaluate presuppositions and
habits. He inspires bravery and a prayerful attitude. Obviously then, he
encourages scientific breakthroughs and the growth of knowledge.
-
He is one of the seven angels
that attend the throne of God.
-
One of the watchers.
-
One of the four presences.
He is set over all the
diseases and all the wounds of the children of men. His charge is to heal
the earth. Visualize the cool gentle cloak of the atmosphere, the deep
cleansing winds, the gentle breezes which surround her. This is the clue
to his implacable nature and the essential comfort of his being. He is
also the healer of human beings, if he be so invited.
Holy One, Healer
of God:
surround me as the air
surrounds our earth, cleanse me as the wind cleanses the high hills and
the plains,
enter me as the breath
and inspiration of God's own healing, and help me to form with your clarity,
a new way of thinking, a new way of being for myself.
Let us make together in
me, a new and anointed mind.
Help me make of myself
a fitting vessel to receive the Holy and Blessed Shekinah of the Lord.
